Position Title: Youth Services Director
Reports To: Executive Director

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Youth Services Director, under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, shares in the JCC’s commitment for the highest quality of programs while maintaining excellent customer service. As a member of the staff team, the Youth Services Director is responsible for program development as well as implementation and evaluation for all of the agency’s programs targeting youth and families. The Youth Services Director serves as the Director of day camps, after school, rental and events, vacation camps and family programming.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY includes:

• Achieve or exceed all budgeted goals with regards to youth and family programming
• Develop, plan, staff, implement, and supervise after school classes and program
• Direct all aspects of building rentals from families and agencies- this includes but is not limited to birthday parties and special event rentals
• Coordinate all aspects of vacation programming and camp by creating, managing and running programs for grade school children during school vacation
• Develop and implement family programming including but not limited to: Chagenu, Purim Carnival, Family Dinners, Special Events, and Added Value Programming.
• Develop cultural aspect of program that includes the following concepts:
• Physical activity
• Jewishness
• Arts/music
• Develop at least one quarterly added value program targeting the following populations:
• Grade school children
• Families
• New members with grade school children
• Hire, evaluate, terminate staff in consultation with Executive Director
• Develop and administer department budget within the agency fiscal and financial policies
• Develop and implement internal/external marketing for program, camps, rental opportunities in conjunction with the Marketing Director
• Administrate payroll and employment data for new staff in accordance with JCC procedures
• Maintain registration and program statistics as well as create weekly report for Executive Director that holds the following information:
• Current financial information compared to budget
• Weekly statistics regarding birthday parties, camps, program fees, special events
• Staff the Youth Committee and Day Camp Committee assisting committee chair in developing meeting agendas and calling committee meetings, taking and distributing minutes, working with the committee to create programs for the target population and fiscal responsibility of the department.
• Develop and forecast long range planning for the department including business plans for all new program initiatives and funding opportunities for new programs in the department;
• Direct all aspects of summer camp program including but not limited to: program creation, recruiting and hiring staff, lead staff trainings, brochure and publicity action plan, marketing and promoting camp to North Shore families, registration process, sales and retention, inspections, licensing, budget, supplies

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS required
• Detail oriented and well-organized, with the ability to plan projects, activities and schedule several months in advance appropriate for various age groups and families
• Strong Jewish background with knowledge of Jewish culture, values and traditions
• Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time
• This position requires independent judgment, initiative and advance administrative skills
• Experience working with this age group
• Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and control budgets
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, children and staff
• The person in the position is expected to be innovative, imaginative and provide a positive role
• model for members and other staff
