The new school year is almost here and the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore is excited to introduce its new Early Childhood Director, Amy Battinelli.

Amy brings a wealth of experience and lots of creative ideas to the JCC’s renowned Early Childhood program. She most recently served as director at the Marblehead Children’s Center, where she managed a staff of 23 teachers and more than 125 children.

Amy has a degree in Sociology with an emphasis on Child Development and has completed several graduate-level courses and workshops on parenting education, reading instruction, ADHD, behavior management, literature for young children and language development.

“I’ve always been impressed by the teachers and educational philosophy at the JCC,” Battinelli said. “The JCC has a well-earned reputation as a wonderful place to bring your children.”

And it’s not too late to join!  The JCC has added extra spaces in our Infant/Toddler, Prime Time for Toddlers and Preschool classes, with extended hours and flexible drop-off and pick-up times from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Our trusted teachers have worked with generations of families.

“The JCC has been a wonderful experience for my daughter,” says mom Karen Blackstone. “She started in the infant room because we were drawn by the caring teachers, their tenure and the J’s strong reputation compared to other programs.”

Every child stands out at the JCC, says Early Childhood Associate Director Stephanie Gladstone.

“No child is a number here. I know every single child and every parent in the school.  We’re top quality and we care.”

In addition, the JCC offers Preschool Enrichment Programs, exciting classes for kids that begin immediately after the normal preschool hours.  Teachers bring children to these programs right in the building, giving parents a little more time while their kids enjoy things like Kinderdance Medley, Swimming and Budding Bookworms. (Children from other area preschools are also welcome!)
